The Pro Lathe Gage by Edge Technology is used to set lathe tools on the spindle axis for optimum cutting conditions. Poorly set cutting tools will leave a "NUB" at the center of the workpiece after performing a facing cut. Our Pro Lathe gage can be used to set tools on the spindle axis and eliminate this issue. The hands free design allows you to use both hands to adjust the height of the tool holder. The recess in the body profile provides enough clearance to set boring bars. The Pro Lathe Gage features an adjustable level housing allowing you to correctly set tools even if your lathe is not perfectly leveled.
Included directions were easy to figure out how to zero in this little thing. Really works like a charm. setting height of cutting tool SO much easier & quicker now. I'm not a machinist, but I love messing around with my old Atlas lathe. At my age it's too hard to get the tool set up right. This really makes it easy.

Nice tool. Take the time to zero it and it sets heights well. Wish it was made in USA. I'd personally pay twice the cost if it was.

I wonder if those giving negative reviews didn't take the time to adjust the level the first time. If you take a minute to adjust the level to your own installation, after that the device works perfectly, and is quicker than any other method I've found.
Really handy for quick height settings, especially when using with a collet. Saw it on Abom79 Youtube channel and it works as good as he says.
