The Carriage Indicator by Edge Technology is designed to monitor the travel of your lathe carriage. It rigidly clamps to most V type ways. The unit includes a high precision 1" travel / 0.0005" resolution indicator. The indicator tip is mounted on an adjustable swing arm allowing it to contact any part of the carriage necessary.

• Body made from strong alloy material.
• High precision 1" travel / 0.0005" resolution indicator included.
• Indicator can be replaced with any ADG 2 style indicator.

    Time saving setup on lathe

    I like this carriage indicator. It saves me a lot of time on lathe work. For my Enco 12x36" gap bed lathe I had to shave off a little bit of material for it to fit properly and avoid hitting the rack gear piece.

    This is really well made like everything else I have from Edge. It is a lot easier to use this instead of an indicator on a magnetic arm since it stays out of the way. The bed of my lathe makes the fit less than perfect when I clamp it down to the v way (can't hardly blame Edge for that) but still it has no problem holding steady and repeats every time.

    After fighting for years with trying to find a solid spot to stick a magnetic backed indicator on the ways of my engine lathe without it getting knocked out of position, I was thrilled to see this new tool from a popular manufacturer. It mounts solidly to my lathe, and the indicator stem sits in the PERFECT spot to contact the carriage. No more worrying about if my dial indicator has moved or not after a slight bump.
